About Tami

Tami has lived in the Waterloo
area since taking her first job in
television news in 1984. The
Chicago transplant received her
journalism degree from Drake, fell
in love with the state and stayed
because fo the great opportunity
she had to anchor and report at
KWWL-TV.

Since the very beginning of her career, Tami has always
enjoyed politics. She covered her first Iowa Caucus in 1984.
As her reporting career progressed, in addition to covering
general assignment stories and breaking news, she focused
on politics -- at the local, state and national levels.

From her political reporting experience, Tami came to treasure
the unusual opportunity to know issues in Iowa at a deep level.
When she left news to change career direction toward
business and public relations, she thought it would be a good
opportunity to switch her public service fo "covering" the issues
to getting involved in the issues by running for the seat in
House District 21.
